The good thing about these machines is that it doesn't require a lot of cleaning like the fully automated ones. You just rinse out the filter thing under the tap and are done with it. Just decalcify it ones or twice a year.

 

I had one after I moved out. Then I visited my parents with a espresso machine and after I tasted their coffee I immediately got my own machine. The coffee is so much more smooth than with the aeropress. And the 20-30 seconds of stirring gets annoying after a while.

What type of coffees can you create with such a device?

Use the larger sieve with double the powder amount and a small espresso cup and you get espresso. Use the normal sieve and a normal cup and you get normal coffee. Add x amount of sugar and/or milk/cream and you get le fancy latte something something covfefe.

I am the kind of guy who throws a couple of teaspoons of ground covfefe into a cup and mixes it with boiled water.
