True, I watched NOam Chomsky on language and religion is easily BTFO by language theory when you realize how much the "word of god" has been fucked up from translations.
Also I think the bible was written in greek so even the hebrew is a wrong.
Reading the Bible in anything but Hebrew seems such a meme.
Take this part in genesis for example:
Abraham complains that since he is childless, the one in charge of his household is his servant dammesek eliezer.
No one knows the meaning of this word dammesek, no commentary, nothing.
The Septuagint tries to bullshit their way translating this as "damascene" meaning from Damascus, even though the city didn't have this name before the Hellenistic era.
What are your thoughts about this?
If you don't see the Hebrew text you don't even know you are being fed lies.
I mean that when I compare the Hebrew text to greek, Latin and English translations, there is a lot of stuff that isn't in the original.
For example the Hebrew says anashim (men) and the translated text has companions, soldiers, agents, messengers.
It's the same here, every swarma "restaurant" has either a picture of ovadia yosef or schnerson on the wall.
Then you speak with the owner and his daughter is living in Europe or North America having sex with non Jews and smoking weed.
I remember years ago an Israeli bernd posted a rental listing on kohl that adjoined a store or restaurant or something like that, and it was explicitly stated that the bathroom was also for the employees of said adjacent business, and you were required to allow them access to your apartment during business hours to use it.
It was me. Here there is no government oversight or regulation of the rental market (in fact of the housing market) and I could write a book about it, but this isn't the topic of the thread.
It's very easy to find apartments for rent without windows, below the minimum permitted size, etc in sites and social media, these places are rented and no one suffer consequences.
I for example 2 weeks ago visited what was advertised as a studio apartment in a Tel Aviv suburb, the owner through the telephone told me that she wanted to see all my payslips, that I had to pay 4 months of rent at once in cash on top of the deposit... When I actually got to the place, it is just a room in her house, there was a kid with her pregnant daughter watching TV there, there was no separation between this house and the "apartment", no different entrance, no electric clock or water clock (even though the tenant had to pay water and electricity by the contract).
Here they just throw things at the wall and see what sticks.
Another very good story of someone I personally met:
This guy lived in a Tel Aviv apartment, and he was coming back from walking his dog to his house. An elderly neighbour complained to him that his dog fur makes a mess in the stairs, he then replied "well, this is why I pay vaad habait every month, so someone will clean it". The vaad habait is like a condominium tax or fee that is calculated according to state wide regulations like building size, amount of floor, if there is an elevator or not, it pays maintainance, cleaning, etc.
The elderly woman looked at him puzzled and said "we don't have vaad habait in this building".
This dude landlord wrote in the contract a monthly vaad habait that never existed and he was taking 100 usds extra every month.
