Do you have any travel recommendations? I'm looking for something in Europe that's not expensive and still enjoyable at these temperatures. I'm planning a one week trip maybe. I want to travel some time in the next two weeks, so it needs to be possible to be booked spontaneously.

Mmh not really the beach guy. I guess, if I had to say what kind of vacation I want to do, I'd say either going hiking or city trips (sightseeing, museums and shit).

Portugal. It's not expensive and ocean breeze makes surviving in scorching summer heat possible (except for Lisbon where it's still too hot)

German dorists are awful anyway. They have to maintain the facade of being civil at home and when they go abroad they feel they are free and think rules don't apply anymore. And the repressed obnoxiousness comes to the surface and behave like tards.

It is certainly more hassle than a non-stop flight. But I'm not sure, whether I will fly at all. Train ride would be 8-9 hours. FlixBus is the cheapest, but takes the longest (12 hours) and I imagine it to be very uncomfortable.

i was in a village 30km away to day, bitch that was traveling. not just very far. it was way nicer 30km away from this retarded zoo, away from this evil Legebatterie where i live. though the 30km away place was weird too, they put surveilance cameras in their parks. all these retarded security addicted rich people who want to be monitored 24/7. i'm trying to find places so poor that nobody bothers to surveil. so far no luck.

I don't know if it's still a thing but the last time I was there around 2010 there were like 10-15 different jazz club with live performances all around town, visited like 3 or 4 of them and it was pretty cozy

My plan is to not use any public transportation and only walk while I'm there. r8
The city's center is like 1 hour by foot from where I'll stay.
GermanyBernd2023-07-19 18:51:38 · 3yNo. 279502reply
Are you really going to go into a Jazz club alone. Take a seat there alone on an empty table and then order a beer? If so I'm impressed.
GermanyBernd2023-07-19 18:56:29 · 3yNo. 279505reply
Definitely remember being in that one because it's close to the Karlsbrücke on the west side and it was in a basement and a buddy of mine dared me to chug a shot of absinthe with him so I spent the next 15 minutes in the bathroom choking and trying to flush my burning throat.
And I remember the second one because of the stage and the ceiling. Actually also now I remember it was some special event that evening and you could buy a ticket that would give you access to all the clubs participating, so you could easily hop from one to another if you didn't like some of the act currently performing.

Buses are cheap and driving all night but I guess you can go around by foot if you don't mind, that's what we did as well

Of course? Actually can't think of a better nighttime place to go by yourself than a live music club, just sit down, have a drink and enjoy the sounds

today i just drove to random lakes in forrest regions. one had a free public outdoor gym (with 3 machines) and playground with 2 hammocks and a soccer field and picnic tables.

on the other side of the lake there was a beach, 4€ admission and 2€ parking.

i wouldn't know how to decide on a place, that sounds like a nightmare. having to rely on this marketing infested tourism industry.

I actually do remember a place i can recommend:

https://www.openstreetmap.org/search?query=%2067435%20Neustadt%20an%20der%20Weinstra%C3%9Fe#map=13/49.3497/8.1980

i was in this place called Neustadt an der Weinstraße and then by coincidence i drove by this Weinstraße that this place has in the name and it was breathtakingly beautiful. curves and hills and valleys (reminded me of a rollercoaster) filled with grapes that were growing for wine production, little wine tasting houses that looked like hobbit houses. reminded me of the windows xp default desktop background.

GermanyBernd2023-07-19 20:33:07 · 3yNo. 279540reply
i was in the town Haßloch because it has a special commerce function: it is germany's test market. stores sell products there that they don't sell everywhere else and then based on how they perform in haßloch they get may or may not get released everywhere else.

i went to the Aldi in Haßloch and there were some unusual products that i never seen in the regular aldi. like flavoured rice made from chickpeas

I've been there couple of times, it's a nice place actually. As long as you stay within the city centre and few modernised districts, that is.
SloveniaBernd2023-07-21 08:58:36 · 3yNo. 279748reply
I honestly don't know; I want to say you will need cash bc I used cash but I didn't even try using card at most places, because provisions are higher that way (especially if the place already converts price to euro before making you the bill, not just your bank converting) and I'm a cheap bastard.

At most kebab and burek places here you can only use cash.

SloveniaBernd2023-07-21 09:07:42 · 3yNo. 279758reply
Mostly English (well I could order food and drinks in Czech), reading is easy but problem in talking is you keep having to repeat because you couldn't parse some word on first try and you drop the thread.
It's also about getting used to hearing the language - last summer in Slovakia it took me about a day or two before their language became clear to me, and the other way around they didn't have that advantage. So by day 6 or 7 I was basically speaking bad Slovak already since without adapting what I'm saying they wouldn't understand me without multiple tries.
