other then those most stuff happening there is not interesting to me. i feel slightly too old for this. i kind of like how the evil empire sees tiktok as a threat and keeps trying to ban it, that kind of makes me want to use it but so far i haven't. it used to require an app to even use but it seems like the requirements aren't that strict anymore. they probably have limits against long videos. what if i want to make a 7 hour rambeling video though? probably not the place for me. also since there are a lot of children, their overbearing parents and teachers probably aren't far either so i imagine it a particularly uncool place to hang.

 

i wish some of these big tech companies were run by good people who worry about the future of humanity and not the silly agenda of the evil elites.

they trying to prevent people from talking about michael jackson on the internet and force anyone only to talk about them and only say positive things about them.

i can relate so much to this video. i researched michael jackson for a while, started reading his book because of how powerful of a creator he was. if everyone had to earn attention and couldn't just take it through violence and manipulation, nobody would give a fuck about what presidents or politicians would have to say. their videos would have no views while everyone would only listen to michael jackson. that alone is why they felt threatened by michael.

 

ON TOP OF THAT HE PROMOTED PEACE WHICH IS WHAT THEY HATE THE MOST. i think michael jackson was the last person allowed to reach this level of fame and now this level of fame is unreachable because of the evil nature of politics. whoever comes near that level of fame will suddenly have the police at their door wanting to investigate them to death about some accusation they merely invented to stop them. i don't even think it is possible to reach this level of artist power anymore because of what a all-consuming monster "democracy" has become.

so far my favorite is Odysee. it is open-source and uses blockchain technology in some way which i already forgot about. works good enough as far as i can tell. only little things annoy me about it but nothing important:

 

when i upload a video then i have to fill in the details about it completely before it starts with the upload. on youtube this is way better. the upload is started by dragging the file in the box immedeatly and while this is uploading, i can fill in the video title and make a description and pick a thumbnail and stuff like that. on odysee everything has to be filled in and then it does the upload. the upload costs some of the crypto currency that the site pays the users. i wouldn't mind this but i hate that i can't turn off the ability for people to pay me. i'd hate it if someone donated money to me against my will. money does stink, people just don't understand.

 

also when i find a typo in the title or description that i wanna correct, the editing kind of has to re-commit the new title or description to blockchain and this costs cryptocurrency again.

 

i vaguely remember this being extra censorship resistant but i could be confusing this with another site i was looking at. i really do like the open source people, this is probably my best option. i wonder if bernd has any experience but bernd is usually inexperienced in most things.

why not just set up your own hosting and share videos that way?

that didn't even occur to me. currently while i am more nomadic that doesn't seem to be an option i like my computer to be turned off while i am not home so it doesn't catch on fire without me noticing.

 

though i'd worry about people using whois to find out too much about me or bothering me with lawyers about copyright claims directly. also i probably would be getting ddos attacked.
