Yea batteries are a hassle to change.

I would love it if self-winding watches were more common – I know there's been some watches being made since late 18th century where weights inside the watch would wind it powered by wearer's movements. And there were also some clocks which use daily environment temperature variations to wind themselves - e.g. the Beverly Clock.
