So she had to pay about 95000$. The insurance company "adjusted" this sum into just 10000$ - and then paid 6000$ out of their own pocket because they are that humane! So now instead of a 95000$ debt this woman has to pay a mere 4000$! That's about 4% of the full sum! She's really ought to be thankful. So what's your problem, OP?
It's a system put in place to discourage people from even thinking not to insure. They put a 10x price that they will always make a 90% discount on if you're insured. With the right insurance company, of course.
Medical expenses are the main cause of bankruptcies in the USA. If you have an accident they stitch you up and then you owe 25.000$ in a country where most people can’t pay an unexpected expense of more than 100$. If you require treatment for cancer or insulin for diabetes and you can’t pay, they basically let you die if you aren’t lucky and some charity pays for you.
Unlike in Europe, where being insured is mandated by the state apparatus, in America you're free to fuck up your life by deciding not to pay insurance.
So it's basically a system of forcing people to work and move up on the social ladder. Jesus, USA is such a free country. Home of the brave. You have to be brave ti live on the US of A.
It depends. For my wife to cover herself, me, and my son it's $150 I think. But this is a special case due to her employer being too evil and wealthy. When I was paying out of pocket it was thirty a month.
So all statistics and reporting about this issue are leftist lies because one anonymous poster on a Russian hamster killing forum told you his wife paid a smaller insurance fee.
it's actually a little bit larger than mine (monthly vs yearly) but yes, the statistic and reporting are obviously fabricated and anecdotal cases overblown.
It costs the same in socialist nanny states, you have just outsourced the responsibility of your health and the payments to the working- and middle class that lose 50% of their income to pay for you.
Hello Mr Bernd. It sucks that your arm is broken. Here, take this opiods that are 95% sure to not make you addicted. That will be 19.000$, but because you are insured it's only 5.000$ and insurance pays 3.000$. Just give me 2.000$ plus tip.
So when I was by myself yes, absolutely I had to pay. Visiting a primary care Dr was about 30 with a copay. Some drugs like symbicort were unaffordable (300 for a sixty day supply) with the insurance.
Emergency room visit would have been astronomical, I think it would have been a 1000 deductible.
Then please let the Slovene see this. If his health insurance is anything like mine, he doesn't have to pay any of that or just a fraction. But now he is walking around thinking facts are leftist lies.
