Btw the only family member who was tested is mom but still obviously me and dad caught it too.
We feel good so far, luckily we were prepared and have a lot of supplements and pills. The only one of us to loose the sense of smell is dad so far but it didn't disappear completely like how it's described in many cases, his taste is also intact.
Hoping it will be alright, stay alert and make sure you have some medicine in your stash!

I don't know, not considered a shameful thing at the age of 21 here. I could live in the dorm but I chose not to, we have strong family ties. My brother moved out at the age of 28. I guess I'm taking my parents with me once I buy an apartment. People end up living the bigger part of their lives without those who love them the most in this world, why should I shorten the time God gave me and them? Why wecterners consider that a good thing to begin with?

CaliforniaBernd2020-10-25 16:29:10 · 6yNo. 103778reply
Here's some advice.
The virus is pretty nasty in some people, and it looks to be that immune enhancement or some tangentially related mechanism is partly responsible for a lot of the really nasty side effects. It's hard to know for sure what drugs will and wont work because people have different immune systems. It's hard to know without extensive clinical trials, and tinkering with the body's biochemical cascade can be dangerous.

While we may not know too much on the drug side, we do know how to recognize and deal with some of the symptoms. The most dangerous thing is silent hypoxia. While the precise mechanism is not known, people have hypothesized that the virus attacks some of the cells that make lung surfactants (which help keep the air sacs open), thus resulting in reduced lung capacity. This is particularly bad because patients do not feel like they are oxygen deprived, and they are slowly spiraling towards death. In a lot of cases, reduced lung capacity is a result of lung stiffness, which is highly noticeable and allows for quick identification. In a lot of Rona cases, there isn't this lung stiffness, but a sort of a soft deflation of alveoli. Quite frankly, you won't know that you're oxygen deprived until it is too late.

HOWEVER, YOU CAN MONITOR OXYGEN LEVELS WITH A PULSE OXIMETER. They aren't too expensive, and they can detect this silent hypoxia before the rona patient can even recognize that they're oxygen deprived. Again, this silent hypoxia only happens in some cases, but it's hard to know if you will be part of that "some cases" category. If you choose to buy a pulse oximeter, you should monitor your oxygen saturation, and go to the hospital if it drops below 90%.

An important part of treating rona is getting hospital care before these "death spirals".
RussiaBernd2020-10-25 16:32:10 · 6yNo. 103779reply
Thanks for your advice, I'm going to order this thing asap. Is it accurate?
CaliforniaBernd2020-10-25 16:41:14 · 6yNo. 103780reply
So it does depend on the price and brand. I'd say you're better off purchasing a pulse oximeter that is a bit more expensive than getting a flimsy cheap one.

Try checking out this site, or continue to search for one that has the accuracy you need for the price you need. https://www.amperordirect.com/pc/help-pulse-oximeter/z-how-to-buy-fingertip-oximeter.html

Even with some of the inaccurate pulse oximeters, they're usually able to detect when your oxygen saturation is in normal range. They struggle with accuracy when oxygen saturation is below normal range, but at that point, you should probably see a doctor.

Hey, even a flimsy one will be helpful.
In fact, there was a study where, surprisingly, some of the cheap pulse oximeters actually fell within the WHO's standards (I think about 3% error). Even a flimsy one should at least be able to tell you if something is off.

The badies are gone now except for mild fever (doesn't get higher than 37.2 no more) and loss of smell. The joint discomfort and the muscle pain were the worst part of this disease. Finding a comfortable position at night took me an hour before I could fall asleep, angry and exhausted.

I believe that starting the medication from day one and being prepared is what protected us and kept the symptoms mild. Maybe the low viral load contributed as well as we've always been wearing the "cuckmuzzle".

We've been taking double daily doses of zinc, D, C, B3. When it comes to pills, we used bromhexine, azithromycin, amoxicillin, ceftriaxone.

The daily megadose of vitamins left me with a tired gut and kidneys for a couple of days, but now that I've lowered the dosage it's gone.

I also mixed honey with curry, ginger, and shitton of garlic and took a spoonful of this mix three times a day.

I also used A TON of snus, I like to believe that nicotine helps.

Oh, another interesting thing is that we got our hands on is a Russian experimental drug, it's not in the drugstores yet: a bacteriophage-laced liquid you breathe in using an evaporator. Mom didn't try it yet though. We're poor people but a mom's friend who knows a guy gave it to us.

We keep on with the pills but the doses are lowered now. I believe we made it and now it's all about getting some good rest before getting back to life.

Stay safe, fredns. I hope this storm will be over next year.

Bacteria attacks when the immune system is weakened by the virus, which makes it all much worse. Antibiotics don't let this happen.
