Why is this board so dead?
Well, I'm taking a special relativity class, and it's really boggling my mind. It's leaving me with a lot more questions than answers.
Distances do not remain constant--time and physical space will "warp" to compensate for an increased velocity. Time and space do this in order to maintain consistency across the reference frames of all observers, and it really leaves me wondering why.
Why do time and distance change based on moving objects? Are all reference frames aware of eachother on some level?

I'm a physics major, so I will technically need this. Although, depending on the industry I get into, Idk how often I'll use it lol.
However, you're right in that we rarely see any relativistic effects due to our low speeds. At first I thought relativity was bullshit until I realized that all of our macroscopic observations of distant galaxies are extremely accurately predicted by special relativity, and tests with high speed particle accelerators display lorentz contraction. Thank fuck we never see this shit in normal life, that would fucking suck.

We need new blood that doesnt feed the beast of eternal september but also antangonizes a newer energetic crowd to adhere to the nostalgic pedestal we place our buffoonish characters at creating original content and not rehashing sstagnant memetics they may see as fresh in their bright eyes but to generally think outside the box.
I don't think its possible in this cycle of imageboards. We're in a clay age of content, and until the flood gates can be shut or opened to a new mass of youth, we're stuck with pretentious old men reposting the same old memes that can sometimes hold a new varnish.
Breaking the old guard's expectancy of new content and creation is difficult, as they've grown weary to yeaes of repetition that has not only callously built their dopamine receptors but also aligned them to a specific stream of content that will sacrifice itself to other communities. Esoteric jokes or accessible laughs to many. Which is the best course of action in today's internet village of fast acting shitposts.

but i have seen literally everyone losing their fucking minds these past few years due to not being able to say what they want
as far as i can tell, thats one of the prime factors behind why there are more and more reactionaries as of late
as for this place becoming nu-pol, i doubt it.
most boards that get like that are a factor of kcmods kcmodding away any sort of dissenting opinions, and we thankfully dont have that problem
idk about you, but personally, the only times id ever get b& from kohl was when i "went off-script"
its only reactionaries left AND right that have a need for an echochamber like that. and because of that, they mostly tend to gravitate towards boards where they have mods who reflect their own views, and will ban the bad men with the mean words so that they can continue being right and dont have to worry about thinking too much
