Already got a Canon 600d. That's enough for small excercises. Besides, free rental where you can get things up to Arri Alexa are always at our service.
It's that VHS natural grain I want, PLUS the S-VHS quality that can almost be compared to cheaper 16mm film.
If you try to fake it, your results would be Lapenko tier at best. Neither VHS nor film can be faked effectively.

It isn't exactly the most popular model, I bet AVGN reviewed some other S-VHS camera.
Good suggestion but I don't think minidv has the soul of s-vhs.
