Why do they fall? It's chinks using jamming technology
Finland Bernd 2022-01-28 15:39:28 ⋅ 2y No. 133696
Because they are flown really, really often. Their mission per crash rates are actually quite equal to F22 and F18. Also every time they crash it's reported. Countries that operate F35s tend to train with them a lot, and the singular airframes are kept in the air for longer periods of time. You also gotta remember that some +700 of them have already been made. So of course some Meme machine from China/Russia etc that has 10 prototypes and 5 production models ready won't crash at the same rate. Another thing is also that USA is quite open about reporting the issues. Even countries like France, UK, Germany tend to hide all the failures. Those planes do have issues, but they less often are discussed about. That being said, i am very biased, as my motherland just bought F35s.

>>133706 Finland should had bought 64 SU-35s instead? With the current production numbers, assuming Russia did nothing but create planes for Finland and none for itself, Finland wouldn't had gotten those planes this decade. Russian high tech arms industry = vaporware. Just some meme weapons with few prototypes, but no actual capability to mass produce.

Finland Bernd 2022-01-29 09:30:56 ⋅ 2y No. 133783
>>133781 Who has claimed that F35 is "invisible"? It's detectable, just getting a valid firing solution is more difficult. That's the point of stealth. To allow the fighter to come in closer before its fired upon. In air battles the one who fires a few seconds earlier has a massive advantage. With big enough radar dish you can detect absolutely anything, but being able to shoot a missile at it and actually hit is entirely another matter. Just seeing some weak signal on the radar flying somewhere but not being able to do anything about it is not that useful in itself.
